In case you have been wondering, good friend and loyal BVAR, Marie Jensen has been away in Illinois for a while. Marie normally spends Summer up North with her children (and grandchildren) so this is not new. However, on the last trip, Marie underwent knee surgery to have her joints replaced. This surgery was very successful and ended major problems that she had been experiencing for some

time. Unfortunately, she then developed a heart problem which necessitated a pacemaker to be installed. We understand that procedure went well also and Marie is recovering happily. In fact, we understand that although Marie misses her Florida Keys home and her many dear friends, "she is having a very good time in her new surroundings" according to her longtime time friend Eva. We still hope to

see Marie, if only briefly, before the end of this year. We would fell terrible if we started the new millennium without seeing her.

After years of waiting, the ever popular song "These Islands" will be released on a new CD. The song has been re-recorded since the 1992 classic "Concert By The Bay" live performance. However, it has not been changed so much as to lose the original tempo and feel. If you liked the original version, you will be sure to like the new rendition as well.
